What is the effect of the Handicap setting in the Scenario Editor? The default seems to be Chieftain. Does this mean that if I load a scenario with the Handicaps for each player set to Chieftain, then choose Prince (the new Noble, with no AI bonuses or handicaps, AFAIK) for my difficulty, that I'll actually be at a disadvantage? Should I go through and change each player to Prince, one by one?

So, anyone has the answer for his question? I have have the same doubt as well.

guessing it only affects the default difficulty in the basic setup when loading the map. just like the game speed setting in the worldbuilder

I really have no idea what it does, or how it is implemented b/c it is present for each civ as well as each city-state...

it could be a handicap for the civ in terms of making the game harder for that civ... or it could mean that the civ needs to play as if the human player is playing at the selected handicap level...

In other words, it could be an internal penalty or an external penalty, but it really is not clear.

So, anybody can answer this simple question? This handicap makes the other civilizations stronger or weaker in World builder scenario?

I would assume that the handicap affects each civ exactly as a handicap would affect a player. I base this on the thought that the scenario editor does not assume a single-player game.

So, this is correct or not. Anyone could answer this correctly please?

Dead thread but i wanna known this to. Dont see any correct answers yet.

I made a scenario with 8 players. I Wanna play on emperor so i set handicap emperor for myself. Is that enough? Or do i need to set handicap on emperor for AI to?

Looking at this http://www.civfanatics.com/civ5/difficulties

It seems that human player picks for example handicap emperor the ai gets the bonus.
No need to set handicap for AI.

Does this also apply for the scenario editor in the world builder?

Thnx for reply/answer!
