Hard Crash/shutdown

Hey all. This is pretty unusual. I've had Civ 4 since it came out and playing it for some time. Suddenly, after playing the Greek scenario for a few days, the game will cause my entire system to shut down after a few minutes. I thought it must be the system itself, but all other games (some very taxing ones as well) play fine. If I start an unmodded civ 4 game, Greek, or Total Realism 2 mods, all cause a shutdown.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

You might wanna think long and hard about certain changes you may have made to your computer between the time when it worked properly and when it didn't. As always, update drivers, defrag, check your processes, the regular stuff.

If you are running a borderline system, then I strongly suggest getting someone with expertise to "clean" your system of junk files that significantly slow it down.

Its most likely your graphics card... update the drivers and if it still crashes check the fan on it doesn't have any gunk. Blowign that out should sort out your hard crash...

If that doesn't sort it, check your other fans most likely an overheating issue.

Not to sound disrespectful, how can it be an issue of an overheating graphics card if one game plays fine and another game does not?

I have a problem with video memory allocation under Warlords. A similar game under the regular Civ4 plays fine.
