I win Cultural Victory with Siam in year 2009AD.
    Info:
I have 3 allied Cultural city states
    Map:pangea
I've been in war with 4 civs at once
In last 50 turns Bismarck have modern armor and i have Artillery and Infantry.

    Tips from me.
    Use Siam
    Have 4 cities
    fill Tradition,Liberty,Piety,Patronage,Freedom.
    First fill Piety
    Second Liberty
    Third Tradition
    Fourth Patronage
    Fifth Freedom
    Have 3-4 Cultural CS
Go strait to Education(for Wats)(Calendar and/or masonry for Luxuries).
    Use Legalism for Temples.
    Have good defense(archer/Crossbowman)in every city.

No, hard-build temples and use legalism for wats, which will help you to get to acoustics and archaeology faster for opera houses, museums, hermitage, and the louvre. Plus, run artist specialists in every city to generate great artists, which should be settled in the city with hermitage. Also, the Oracle is great. Most importantly, though, you really need cultural CS allies: try to get all of them! 3 is not enough. Particularly as Siam, you can get outrageous amounts of culture from them.
(Sorry, I haven't had time to look at your save.)

Liberty isn't needed at that level, especially if you are only going for 4 cities. Freedom should probably be the #2 policy tree you fill out, as it makes your great artists a LOT more effective with landmarks. Just my two cents.

2009 is an extremely late date, with optimal play 1600s is feasible.

are Wats the next tier of culture buildings for Siam?
I just finished a cultural game as France, was once at war with 3 civs at once.
Just make sure not to fall behind in tech, and absolutely keep up with defense.
I had 4 cultural CS allies, 4 cities, and was pulling in 700+ culture by the time I won (2006).
And you don't have to use Siam, I just proved it.
France has better defense with musketeers, and you can get a lot of puppets with the Foreign Legion.
I was 3rd in tech by the time I finished.

Wats are the Siam University but they are considered cultural buildings for Legalism since they add +Culture. So they use a cultural Policy for +free science.

Yes but OP makes it sound like he achieved something that most players can't.

There's a certain order of precedence:
    Monument
Mud Pyramid Mosque (Songhai's temple replacement)
    Temple
    Burial Tomb (Egypt's temple replacement)
    Opera House
    Museum
    Monastery
    Wat (Siam's university replacement)
    Mughal Fort (India's castle replacement)
    Broadcast tower

So you get the highest building on the list that you don't already have, but which you have the tech for. i.e. If you get Monuments, Temples (and Libraries) and have Education, you get 4 free wats.

This is my hardest Cultural Victory and My hardest victory in my playing history.
I was been attacked by 4 civs and my kill ratio is: (In year 1300AD)
    Killed:
    3 Pikemans
    2.Catapults
    10 Bowmans
    Lot of Warriors
    1 Camel Archer
    2 Cannons
    4 Spearmans

    My casualties
    1 Warrior

When i write the thread name i mean this is One of the Hardest Cultural Victory and i want a Deity player beat game before year 2000AD when he is attacked by 4 civs.
This is my first VICTORY on Prince.
So w a i n y for me prince victory is hard especially to win Cultural Victory because you have poor science and not very good Military.
    I confess i can win in 1970AD or 1960AD.YES.
    But with France or Spain.
I think i win one of the hardest Cultural victory ON PRINCE with Ramkhamhaeng.
I now you can win Cultural victory with him in year 1800AD but tell me how many restarts you have?
    Maybe 100.
    And i have 0.
    I play WITHOUT Ancient Ruins.
So now what is your opinion of my victory?

Now im better player and i'm trying to win Space Race Victory with Babylon.

lol, with no restarts of prince it is easy to win 1700 culture. On diety I generally do about 30 restarts before I can get in the 1600 ballpark. I have to imagine that on prince any possible start with optimal play you can get a culture victory before 1750.

To get the Wats from legalism, make sure you don't need any monasteries in your four cities (due to improved wine and/or incense), you will get one of those before a Wat.

    Artingel78:

I play on King. I play all my starts to completion and I have never lost. Most of my wins since the patch are Cultural, with most Civs, and generally I finish before 2000 AD.

Even without Ancient Ruins, it should be possible, since I had once such a bad start that I got none, and presumably my friend Bismarck got a lot, since he was a monster in that game.

I congratulate you on the win, but Ramkhamheang really is one of those leaders most suited to Culture wins. Between the culture boost from Wats and early Operas, 50% more culture from Culture States, and the early Great Artists that advanced tech gives you, he's really clutch for culture.

I'm sure this win was hard for you. Congrats and hope you enjoy more such tough games!

I agree Bismarck is like a monster in civ5.And i win even i was attacked by him,Rome,Arabia,Babylon and i have... 1 Archer and oligarchy. I don't want to promote my kill ratio here, i only want to ask are anyone else is been attacked by 4 civs and he win before year 2009AD i know answer is yes but i will try to win another victory with Siam. Cultural is Boring.:mischief:

I know best tactic for winning Cultural:

    Use Polynesia and Archipelago map.
Just have some tea, coffee and sandwich and enjoy with victory.:D

My first culture victory on Prince was with Siam. Small map, Continents, standard time. Game options at default. Siam is definitely a very good civ for pumping out culture. It wasn't diffcult at all, an easy win. Though I didn't get the win until around 2020.

My focus was to have few cities but have as many luxuries as possible within those cities. I had five total cities by end of game. One of my cities was on a small island that was rich in luxuries. It was awesome. I used those luxuries for trading with other civs to keep my cities on "king of the day" mode. I was only at war once. I focused on trying to stay out of war and keep the peace with everyone. I also focused on keeping all culture city-states allied. I didn't mess with any other city-state types only the cultured ones. I had a lot of fun with this game and it was a satifying win. I don't win very often... yet. I'm not an expert civ player by any means.
