WASHINGTON — Senate Democratic Leader Harry Reid accepted free ringside tickets from the Nevada Athletic Commission to three professional boxing matches while that state agency was trying to influence him on federal regulation of boxing.

I seem to hear Britney singing..."oops, I did it again".....

Anyone care to try and defend this type of stuff?

If there's still people defending the current administration in Washington, my guess is someone will care to defend this type of stuff. :p

better than accepting favors from big oil companies. though i think he should still be punished its nowhere near as bad

I seriously just want someone, SOMEONE to burn the whole damn capitol district down. Lets rebuild it from the ground up, no BS attached.

I may have my politics, but I won't attach them to politicians.

All I know is that accusations of improper behavior fly against what I personally know Harry Reid to stand for. Some may be true...but Im less likely to believe it was Reid, because I actually know him. I pray they arent true

Uhm...the boxing ticket thing isnt an allegation...even Reid himself admits it and thinks he didnt do anything wrong. Apparently, he doesnt quite comprehend what "ethics" means.

Hmm, kind of a small boat there. There are quite a few Bush Supporters in D.C. that would care to defend Bush.

Washington D.C. is a basketcase all the way around, so I don't think I'd want to consult them on anything.

why is it that most of america is moderate but both partys always manage to get all the votes

i think its because of the way they tell us you have to be one or the other and thats BS

i dont hate republicans, but i dont like democrats either. im sick of both of them, lets get some responsible people in DC and maybe this nation can move forward

All of Congress is a mess. Quite honestly, I'm sick of pretty much everyone there, in both parties. We need to get rid of a lot of the old farts who are drunk with power, and get some fresh blood in there.

OMG, next thing you know he'll be authorizing his aides to disclose the identities of covert operatives!

THE SHAME!

Now, the guy who they found 90k in his freezer, lol, he should be on a fast track to prison, but tix to 3 boxing matches? meh... Unless they were REALLY REALLY SUPER UPER DUPER GOOD boxing matches.

Mad props to Fox News for failing to mention that Reid did in fact vote for the legislation opposed by the Nevada Athletic Commission, i.e. he couldn't be bought with a mere three ringside seats. Now, for MobBoss's DeLay/Ralph Reed/Bob Ney's golf junkets in Scotland-thread.....

Exactly. This thread seems a bit skewed to me.

Meh, the story says McCain payed for his own tickets and the cost was somewhere in the 1400-1700 dollar range. Defnitely not the cheap seats.

Perhaps. It's hard to say as the U.S. is the most visible country in terms of the pitfalls of it's government. People are people. Now, I will say that Congress has become more and more 'regal' over the years in the sense that most of them think they can get away with the small little perks.

The acceptable line needs to be draw way way back.
The best corruption scandles so far have been all repubican.

From Cunningham pardoning himself IN ADVACNDE
Three SUCESSIVE heads of the Reublican party all linked to corruption scandles.
To Delays defence had me lol
