Harry Turtledove's World War Series

I quite enjoyed those books and the great war Us front were even better however I dont think he looks at what would have happened enough, in the books things run practically the same course (emergence of the hitler fellow after the south looses for instance) - what happens is often quite like history and so gets boring. He also has too many charachters for which he has real problems thinking of stories

I know that sounds like I hate them but i dont -but I think he should have developed ideas more (i.e. no mention of US allies in greatwar american front till last book, no trade in anything but ginger in world war series)

The whole mormon rebellion thing is great as is the humans defeat of the race - that bit where jaegar fights skorzeny in the last world war book is sheer brillance.

stuffen' rabid badgers down yer pants.

I liked his Into the Darkness series. It was basically a telling of WWII in a fantasy world with dragons, magic, and what not. A great read. :)
