http://youtube.com/watch?v=WjK-iSkLJlQ - Mike Gravel solja boy
http://youtube.com/watch?v=jB9mb6XhD28 - fake Clinton and Obama fighting on WWE RAW
this is after http://youtube.com/watch?v=HbaxHjxOlo4 when the candidates use wrestling slang to try and seem hip to the intended crowd

I could probably find more but the point is made. Has the current election just made a mockery out of the whole system, or is the attempts made by the candidates to connect to audiences just the same as politicians have always done, just now more prevalent due to the internet?

Always has been, always will be.

This is your first election, isn't it?

It's one of the wonderful things about living in such a big, diverse country. With so many different groups to impress, sometimes candidates need to court the idiot vote.

Also, I think the various youtubes have been helpful in keeping the various partisans from going too crazy.

obama was good... and john mccain and all his mccainaics

Come November, it's going to be the Obamanauts vs the McCainiacs! :run:

The election process, and what people utlimately base their vote on, has been silly for quite some time. And I had such high hopes for this one...

It's been like that since 2000.

Atleast in the WWE skit McCain looked like he knew what he was talking about and probably connected better with the roughly 5 million people watching that night.

Better to vote for someone because of a silly video than because they want to deny gays the right to get married.

I think Gravel's video is a thousand times more intelligent and serious than this (hilarious) nonsense.

See what Hope does to you? :p

That was '96. They would have asked Dole, but were afraid he might answer "Depends."

:rotfl:

Elections have been a mockery for quite a while...but I suppose it is the fact that we didn't have it available to us 24/7 that makes us look back at golden eras.

Can't we just steal Sarkozy from the French?

Headline: After Kidnapping, Sarkozy Suffers from Cruel and Unusual Punishment by US Citizens!

Brits, no we don't want Brown. Keep him. Forcing him upon us will result in a formal declaration of war.
