The early 14th century BCE saw Egypt flourish beneath the guiding hand of Hatshepsut. During her long tenure Hatshepsut expanded Egypt’s trading empire, establishing networks and influence in the Mediterranean to the north and the rich land of Punt to the south. She channeled the resulting wealth into immense building projects that captured her people’s rich heritage, ensuring the power she cultivated for both Egypt and herself would be immortal.

I know this is nitpicky, but I really hope they can improve that Production icon. It's pretty boring and is hard to read in text and as a yield icon the map, judging by that one screenshot showing tile yields.
I'm in agreement. I think everyone got used to the giant gear in Civ 6 for almost a decade. Even the culture icon almost blends in, and isn't as colorful.

I say simplify. A flat white music note on a purple circle. A flat white hammer on an orange circle. a flat white beaker on a blue circle. Etc. Happiness is already a yellow circle with a face on it, and the rest of the UI is pretty flat/minimal too. May as well lean in and just make the resource icons much easier to see.

I feel like the gear icon this time around might not be a good idea because it'll be easily confused with the Happiness icon (same shape, same general color family). So I get the use of the hammer, but the execution just feels a little off to me. I wish I had more precise feedback to give or better ideas, but I'm no artist.

I do like the new culture icon a lot though..I think it's a cute and more interesting than the single note we got in Civ 6.

Just not being grey-on-grey or white-on-grey would be a huge improvement. In terms of color contrast, the UI is very difficult to parse at a glance.

I get why you're suggesting that, but I think it might not be a good idea. Icons within circles is how Humankind does it, and it looks incredibly dull and flat. I hate how yields look in that game.

Holdover from the Endless games where FIDSI (yields) are just color coded with no icon.

The icon itself is fine. If it had the same color scheme of Civ 6, or just brighter, it would be easier to find and read.

if they want the icons to blend into the text that’s fine, but they can’t be doing it on dark background screens 😭

They should just copy the icon from Civ IV, which was also a hammer, but much more readable due to having a larger head and being more blueish.

The entire UI in Civ VII is terrible and hard to read though, and all the influencers who got to play it early told Firaxis as much. I'm sure there will be major changes before release.

Larger hear yes, but bluish makes it more like science...Orange seems better for production (thicker head AND thicker handle is needed)

Oh gosh, they're still doing binary agendas? Could've made it so much more dynamic if the relationship shifted for each wonder more/less you had than her...

This is literally the main reason people had problem with the entire Agenda system...

SARAH DARNEY IS BACK!!!

Happy that Sarah’s back!

And I was pulling for Hatshepsut as the Egyptian leader so I’m glad it’s her (though it was revealed a month ago lol). Did they say in the livestream how often we can expect the first looks?

And when do we see those screens of the leader facing the player?
