Skepticism does seem warranted here. Especially troubling is that this isn't anthropology journal, and it's 11 years old. I wouldn't think too much of it.
 
Well, it's a physiology journal, so I don't see why it's 'especially' troubling. However, I agree that skepticism is warranted.
"Additionally" may have been more appropriate. In any case it still is troubling as physiology journals are about modern physiology and I have my doubts that they have appropriate training to properly peer review anthropological works.
