Earth Map, Washington, Immortal, Standard...nothing else special marked
My bet is Nile.
Oh wow. Haven't even seen something like that on legendary start.
I've had seven luxes of the same type within a city's 5-ring before on Legendary starts, but never all within the 3-ring. Whack. Hope you weren't planning on building a production-heavy powerhouse for a capital, though.
Recently I got 8 Wines, Marble, Sugar and Furs (one of each) within the city radius, on a small Earth Map, Prince, normal settings (no legendary start, abundant etc.) Perhaps this happens somewhat often on Earth Maps?
yeah Earth maps seem to clump up resources a bit more than regular maps.
Well if nothing else, your citizens should all be very active. Hope that water is fluorinated...
Agree, looks like you'll be cash rushing a lot in your capital.
Anybody finds it bit funny the connection between sugar, and that the nation is America, and that there's a specific stereotype of American people... not trying to be offensive.
I was thinking: how typical for George Washington's capital to be surrounded by plantations.
What a coincidence. I had a start very similar to this on an Earth map recently, with America as well!
Here it is.
I think massed sugar tiles are very common on or near the Nile on Earth maps. It's been a long time since I played an Earth map (I always find the scale jarring, particularly in North America), but I think dyes almost always appear near the Amazon in huge quantity and sugar near the Nile.
I had a desert start like this once, only it was 7 wheats. 7 River Wheats!
I rushed Petra (only helped the non-floodplains, but I had a ton of hills too ^^) and got Desert Folklore, was such a funny game.
Yea you wouldn't need production. You could eventually buy everything, although you wouldn't be much of a Wonderspammer. Although, there should be a special Candy Factory wonder for that situation And maybe a dental office building.

hmm... desert folklore oral tradition beeline for Petra.. Culture FTW
for sure. I kept the save and started a different game that I'm involved in now, so I'll come back to this one.
Did you pop a ruin on turn 0? You have 20 culture on turn 0.
On Earth maps it happens quite often that there is a ruin in the reach of your starting warrior or even inside the 6 surrounding hexes of the settler.
Needs more food though.
The sugar is on top of flood plains; not desert. Plenty of food with every tile paying for itself + Granary + Watermill + Tradition policies
yes I did. I actually got the ruin before I founded the city.
