Once at work I picked up a radio station with one of my fillings. Nobody believed me at first - they all thought I was mad (which is what they usually thought). Then they gathered around closely and listened in amazement to the country music faintly eminating from my teeth. Ever happend to anyone else?

Ehehe. No. I do have plenty of fillings but I've never had the pleasure of tuning in a radio station on of them.

Nope. It was seven years ago and lasted for about five minutes. I think it was either AM or shortwave.

No but it would be interesting. DId you ever worry that it would never stop? Or would it matter if it didn't?

Wow, a radio station on your fillings? That's amazing.

A few times I have (very faintly) picked up mobile phone conversations in the train through my walkman headphones.

I find this hard to believe.

Radio waves are elewctromegnetic fluctuations, sound is matter vibration. A peice of mettal alone cannot convert the 2. It need an electic current and speackers and probobly more.

Crystal radios have been used for years to listen to AM stations and use no electric current. They demodulate the AM signal and use the resulting audio frequency electrical energy to drive a headphone.
On rare occasions, a piece of metal (dental fillings included) can do the same thing the crystal does - it has to be an AM signal and it has to be very strong. Drewcifer was probably within a couple of blocks of an AM broadcast station.

Here's what happened to me one time:
I was fooling around with my .wav recorder on my computer, trying to transfer some recordings from a hand cassette player to my machine. I was using a direct connection between the two. On accident I recorded a time segment when one end of the cord was just in my hand and I could see on the display that something was being picked up. I thought it was static but when I played it back it turned out to be an AM radio station that I usually listen to. A conjuction of my body, the wire and my computer made a perfect antenna to catch that radio wave. I found that if I held the wire in my mouth, with the saliva making a better connection it came out even clearer. The braces/fillings is what instantly came to mind, so all those poeple weren't bonkers when they said those things.

Also the phone lines in my apartment seem to catch cell phone conversations or something.

I haven't been as lucky, I think. I once thought I heard the theme song from this game, but nobody was even playing it, of course I think that's because I had stayed up for 24 hours already and I get a little weird when I stay up for 24 hours:crazyeye:.

Well I don't have any fillings so it would be quite unlikely

I used to think it was radio, but it turned out to be God Himself TALKING DIRECTLY TO ME.

I wish God weren't such a Barry Manilow fan though. :(
