Have you shaken hands with any famous person?

i've shaken hands with company leaders...
and I think the governor of my province
and oh, I refused to shake hands with the king (of Belgium). (not elvis ;) )

I met three of the (then) surviving Gilligan's Island cast. Bob Denver, Dawn Wells, and Russell Johnson.

Dr Geoffrey Gallop, former Premier of Western Australia. A few footballers, particularly players at the Port Adelaide Football Club where my grandfather has worked most of his live.

King Michael I of Romania
Leonardo Di Caprio
President of Romania, current.
President of Romania, previous.
President of Romania, the one before.
Mayors of at least 20 cities/towns across Europe. :)

That's about all that I can think of... I mean I met much more famous people than thoss (which doesn't really impress me) but rarely shook hands with them. :)

Julie Christie
Shirley Maclaine
Kenneth Williams
Sid James
Patrick McNee
Adrian Dunbar
(used to be a barman in London's West End)

Most of the West Indies cricket team (1984)
I used to beat Mike Gatting (England captain) at snooker

And I once hit Pierre Trudeau with a sandwich during a demo.

George Clinton (ran into the guy in Brussels. Got pictures with him, backstage passes, danced on stage during Flashlight, shared some herb with bandmembers...good time)

But as far as simple handshakes, Colin Powell, George RR Martin, Fred Thompson, Robin Ventura. And really drawing a blank after this. Been up close to a number of celebs, but actual, proper meetings? Not too often.

Aubrey de Grey is about the only semi-famous person I've shaken hands with.

I have had Jimmy Carter watch me play croquet though, which I feel makes up for my lack of celebrity palm.

I ´ve shaken hands with Nobel Prize laureate Koishi Tanaka at a conference on mass spectrometry and at school with Klaus Viehböck which was the first Austrian Astronaut

Oh I forgot, I also hung out with Andrew WK on his tourbus and I assume shook his hand at the beginning and maybe end.

Jackie Chan did make a speech at my school in HK once though unfortunately, I, unlike a lucky few, didn't get to shake his hand.

Oh god no.

I consider very few famous people to be worth shaking hands with, and those few, I would never approach, even if the opportunity came.

I will show them the same courtesy I would expect if I were in their shoes (to be left alone).
