This is a map of the 8 main islands of Hawaii. I created this map because I am planning on a scenario/mod (havent decided exactly how I want to do it yet) based of the settlement and unification of hawaii. This is still early stages but should be playable. I did it freehand off of NASA satellite imagery, am looking for a balance of accuracy and playability and some of the distances between islands has changed. The map isnt nearly as big as the size suggests because there is a lot of water.
Hawaii (the big island) is separated by ocean from Oahu, Lanai, Maui and Kahoolawe, which are also separated by ocean from Kauai and Niihau. Luxury resources have been placed more for game play than realism at this point and I'm hoping to find a better compromise if i can stay focused. At this time I havent placed strategic resources since they dont yet play into what I am doing but I am uploading 2 versions of the map one with just luxury resources placed and another with randomized resources.
