Help a CivIII n00b

Ok im really new at this, but i want to make my own maps and to improve on ones ive downloaded from other people. I would like to change units in my scenarios(one really good idea ive heard lately was changing the American special unit from an F-15 to a minuiteman). What i need to know is this: how do i change units, and how do i get a new graphic for the changed unit. For exaple exactly how would i go about changing the American special unit from and F-15 to a minuitman.

Just go in the editor ----> C: Program Files, Infogames Interactive, Civilization III, Civ3Edit Then unselect 'Use Default Rules', then you can change the rules. In the units area you should be able to see the part where for each unit it has only certain civs that can build them. You can then change any unit to just for the Americans, and change it's a/d/m, etc. If you want to use a separate graphic for a special unit, it is more complicated, I recommend going to the User Creation forums on this site, they would be able to give you more detailed information.
