OK, so I've been playing as Org. leaders lately and realized that it is MUCH better than Fin. so this time I tried Roosevelt. I've got to say I am impressed but I have some problems.

I've REX a bit BUT i don' think my city locals were very good.

and the newer lands

Heres a better look into my lands,

Ragnar managed to bulb CoL and found Confucianism so here is the tech screen:

And some other stuff as well:

So my main questions are:
1) should I keep REX and block of Mansa?
2) What about Ragnar?
3) Is my game overall ok? I seem to have a issue keeping my games going.

Looks like you're doing fine.
Keep that power rating up, if you plan to go through mansa eventually. Otherwise, you can afford to slack off a bit if you make friends with him. Great tech partner. You should be looking at taking out Mao; he almost certainly has an enemy, look to get whoever that is on your side.

You seem to be going good. A couple things that I'd do though, is I'd pump out 3-4 more workers to cottage Chicago's flood plains and to hook up Phoenician to your civilzation. Your economy is looking good (I'm guessing the GLH helped out) but in this situation I would've ran more of a SE. Despite the fact that you lack the Philo trait, a SE would've advanced your tech quicker and would've fueled your expansion better. There aren't a lot of great cottage cities, but there is Stone and lots of food. Stone + Food + Org = Uber-Rex SE Economy!

Great game though, keep us posted!

On a side note, I'd also try to settle the silk, copper a pigs to the right of your peninsula to make sure not barbs spawn there. I'd also work on converting and spreading Christianity so that your cities can grow a little more. Also on the happyness/growth talk, I'd research Monarchy then trade for CoL, as once you grow your cities more you'll be able to produce and research things much faster.

Keep expanding; settle a few more city sites. You also may wanna move the capital to Atlanta or Chicago to reduce maintenance. Your capital should be in the middle of your empire if possible. If Ragnar is around, you may not want to neglect your army/navy either.

OK, for the silk pig iron location I am thinking of settling on the northern silk to claim iron, pigs and another silk. Other than that I am running 2 scientists in Washington and 1 in philly. I guess I should get more up and running.

80BC-500AD This round i am at a cross points. This is my major weakness, the early war....

First off, I decided to go for Aesthetics. It would be good trade and I love the Statue of Zeus. Anyways, I have much more happiness thanks to Forges and Gems.

My lone archer is searching Mansa Munsa's land. And look what I found!

I used the Scientists I got from Washington to bulb Philo.

And look where Taoism was founded!

Made a few trades with mao and i changed Civics.

I FINALLY convert to Judaism
Throughout the game Mansa has been converting a lot of my cities. Thanks!:goodjob:

GOD DANGIT! Did I mention I got A LOT of bad events? Also I got 2 quests for Libraries and Forges. Can anyone tell me the rewards?

I've been building up troops to smash mansa for awhile and this is what i got.
I'm not sure if its enough. I know i need more siege though.
I made a few tech trades with Mansa and got Literature and started it in my Cap.

And thats where I ended my round. A few graphs:Man look at Mansa capitol!
Here is my SoD ready to attack,
and Mansa defenses courtesy of my brave archer

So what should I do? I still haven't founded that Silk city but I do have Courts up and running quickly. Techwise I am still pretty good, but Mansa needs to die. Is my SoD enough? I'm thinking of just taking 1 city then calling peace for a tech then getting a cats and finishing him off.

WHERE'S YOUR SIEGE? Especially considering that you are going up against Mansa's skirmishers, you really need siege. At least 5 with many more coming in.

You really need way way more siege.

I generally take about 3 times as much siege as attackers. Bombard City Defenses to 0% and then suicide catapults into the defenders until the defenders are weak enough to give good odds to my melee units to take the city.

I very rarely do early war at present, unless it is very very early. You could shortly be up against longbows (if not already) and then you are going to need a lot of troops to win. Might be as well to take one or two cities and make peace until you can go back with trebs and muskets.

Good luck!!

Like the person above me said, attack until he gets Longbows which is now even though you are low on siege. You will have some casualties, but that's ok. Raze any cities that are poorly placed and have no wonders. Wouldn't wanna upgrade all those units anyways with your economy so it's ok if some die.

The worst thing about not having enough siege is the time it takes to barrage down city defenses, which allows the AI to seriously beef up city defenses. A spy and deep EPs can remedy this if your overall strategy allows it.

Some advocate using a horse archer stack with no siege, but I haven't been able to get that to work very well. Fortified spearmen behind city walls are just too killer whenever I try that.
