Rear Admiral
Chieftain
Here is my dilema.....
I have downloaded several files for new units. I however, am a compete newbie at modifying a game so I need some help. I've seen many posts related to CREATING a new unit, but all I need help with is INSTALLING the existing files from ingenius users like Dark Sheer.
I have the files in a new folder after extracting them with WinAce, but now what? Obviously none of the new files match any of the existing files so I cannot simply replace one with the other like one would with a no CD cracked .exe file. For instance, I downloaded Dark Sheers Bandit, and after extracting I have 5 files:
Bandit Configuration Settings (notepad)
BanditAttackA (FLC File)
BanditDeath (also an FLC File)
BanditDefault (FLC File)
BanditFidget (FLC FIle)
What the heck do I do with those 5 files?
Sorry for being such an ignoramus but I need some help :crazyeyes

). Anyway, inorder to install a new unit you need Gramphos' Civ3MultiTool which you can download from the utility part of the forum. Using C3MT you can then copy an existing unit and make them into a new unit (say copying the calvary and name it bandit). By doing that C3MT will make a directory/folder called Bandit and inside the folder there will be a file call Bandit.ini Once that is done, you can now unzip all the files into the new directory/folder and replace whatever is created by C3MT.
Thank you very much Dark Sheer. By the way, your units are spectacular
