Hi all!
I've been a Civ fan for a long time now, but I've only in recent years caught on to modding and making my own scenarios. Now with CivIII I dabbled a bit in making my own personal scenarios (never having the bollocks to acctualy release any of them!) but I've only just started to do this with CivIV and to be honest I'm finding it really difficult!

Now I've had an idea for a scenario for a while now (in fact I started to make it on CivIII it was that long ago!) or should I say a series of scenarios, but I could do with some help from more skilled/expierenced players. They were set in World War 2 and was set around small fictional actions with cities acting as 'objectives' for one or more to attack and one or more to defend. In this particluar installment the Americans are the attackers and the Germans the defenders. Now the idea is that there are no workers, science or anything like that. Objectives can't build improvements like barracks or aqueducts, only made up improvements like barricades that would improve defence and so on...

Thats the idea anyway! But I have no idea how to use the World Builder or anything like that with CivIV (I have BTS)! So if anyone has a clue how I get round this without too much hard work (I know I'm lazy! ;)) or any help they can give me or even any new ideas or suggestions please feel free to share them and they'll be much appreciated!!!

Cheers!

It's impossible in WorldBuilder. If you want the cities to not be able to build buildings, you would need at least python. Workers are easily disabled in XML.

Cheers for the info mate, obiviously I'll need to look into that!

you can remove buildings using only XML. Or even add them for that sake.

it shouldn't be too hard of work, but it can be time consuming. If you haven't modded much in civ4BTS, I'd suggest reading some tutorials.

sometimes when you remove things such as units or buildings, it messes up the eventsinfos.xml and eventtriggerinfos.xml (I think thats what they're named), so you might want to investigate those as well.
