Help, please!

I just got done installing Civ 4, and it won't run!

I get this error whenever I try and run it, "Renderer failed to load, check Direct X version and Graphic Settings."

Okay, no big deal right.... I install the new drivers for DirectX and for my graphic's card (Radeon 9600 256mb)... and I still get that error.... anyone know why???

install the directx in the /directx folder from the game cd. i hear theres something special about it compared to previous directx 9c's

it won't run until they fix it I have the same card and tried everything. We just got to wait on them

I tried to do that, and still nada. I changed my resolution, my color settings, etc... and again nothing.

I don't know why my card would not be compatible. That irks me.

I'll assume you used the game cd to reinstall dx9c...I think this sounds more like a video card setting that might be dormant/not activated...maybe. I hope it's something simple for you.
My system: 1.4 AMD T-Bird / 9500pro ati radeon 128mb / 1 gig ram

performance is remarkable with my specs (not sure that video card should be a problem; thus my thought of maybe a setting like AGP acceleration somehow being disabled /shrug)

Dug my old video card out of my underground... let's hope it works ! GeForce4 MX440........
