HELP, this is to slow

Dear CIVfanatics friends,

I've recently purchased CIV 4. I bought a laptop which is really up to date. It has a 1800 Mhz Intel Pentium processor. The video card is only 64 MB but it should be ok says the book, that came with the CIV 4 box. So the requirements should be matched by my new pc. I'm really disappointed because I've been playing civilization since CIV 1. Up until the 3rd part of CIV it didn't have this high requirements.
anyway. Can you help me with my gameplay. It is running really crappy. It is defenitly to slow.
My drivers are all up to date. Also I have downloaded the patch 1.61. This didn't help. Also I have put the graphics all on low and the resolution as low as possible.

Do you have a suggestion for me, what I should do?

What size map are you playing on?

The size of the map was not the problem, it was really small.
Your other question I don't really understand actually. dxdiag? what's that? sorry...

Some more tips: Close all other applications before running civ (including instant messengers, antivirus, etc). Defragment your hard drive.

Yes, I hate when someone via skype want to be in my skype contact list . Exit skype before run Civ4/Warlords.
