Help! Trade route problem

I went to the Governer screen and set my import just like I wanted. But how do I assign a ship or wagon train to carry out the order automatically?

You need to set at least one colony to export the same goods as well. Then select your ship or wagon and one of the options available will be 'assign trade route'.
