Help Troubleshoot Direct IP?

Hello Everyone!

Could you help troubleshoot this Direct IP connection attempt?
My friend and I are trying to get a Civ4:BTS game going via Direct IP.

The challenges are
She is playing the windows version of Civ4 complete on her mac
She has a IPv6 address (so I can't Direct IP to her)
We tried Evolve 2.0 beta, but it doesn't offer VPN support for Macs yet
Whenever she tries to connect it times out

What I know is
We are both running the same version of BTS 3.1.9.0 (128100)
My Windows Firewall is showing 'Allow' for all ports involved in Civilization IV/BTS
I know my external IP address from googling "What's my IP"

Anything short of "make her buy a PC", I'm happy to try if you could offer help.

Does the host have port 2056 forwarded? If the host have port 2056udp open on the internet it must work for 2 players.

portforwarding on the router is different concept from opening ports in firewall
