I, I have a question about the game, I think it may be a bug but I'm not sure. When playing on fractal maps in C2C, I often see a terrain called "unexplored island" generated right off the coast. It's always a 1x1 terrain that produced some food and commerce. However, I can never "explore" the terrain.

My questions:
1) Is "unexplored island" like a goodie hut?
2) Do I need boats to get on it?
3) Why can't I just walk on it directly from the coastline with my units?
4) If the "unexplored island" does nothing, why not just call it "small island"?

Note, I do see the civiliopedia entry on "unexplored island", but it's pretty empty. Basically, I just want to know if my game is generating maps correctly.

Yes to 1) and 2).
These are like goodie huts a few miles from the coast, still in view but not accessible by land units.

Hey, thanks a bunch! Hmm, this makes starting on a coastal capital seem considerably better, now.

It will automatically "pop" like any other goodie hut once your culture overlaps it, so technically you don't need boats.
