Help with Russian flag

I have been modifying in game flags and I cant take the default flag of russia although it is kind of authentic. Russia's new flag is too easily confused with France's IMO and therefore I dont really want it. However, I don't want the USSR flag (even though it is a cool flag) because it is inaccurate and that bugs me. SO I need another flag. I have considered the double headed pheonix but it just doesnt fit for me. I DID however stumble upon something about talk of a new flag for Russia that was proposed.

Okay, I do not have a picture for this as thats what I need. But I can describe it. But some guy has "submitted" an idea for a Russian flag that is red with a large gold star in the center and a number of small identical stars circling it. I think this flag looks good. Also Red is Russia's national color really.

Does anyone know the name of this flag or have an image of it or the name of the man who suggested it? Or perhaps have another flag that is more accurate than USSR? Although, not the modern Russian flag.

(As odd as this may sound) If anyone is Russian what flag other than today's russian flag would you think best represents Russia? I know that is a stupid question but thats the best way for me to word it. Is there actual talk in Russia over the flag now, or has the new flag became solid and everyone backs it?

BTW: The American flag in my game is actually the Betsy Ross flag. (13 Stars of New England) I feel it represented America better in Civ 4 than the 50 star flag. If that helps clarify the question above.

That coat of arms flag or "Romanov Dynasty Flag" matches the color scheme I have for them pretty good. They are the default Mali color in my setup. I may end up going with it.

Soviet Red Flag has been considered as the only contender to the actual Russian flag, but time for talks seems to be over now. If you're interested in a different russian flag, look at my avatar. It's Moscow Coat of Arms and one of the most important symbols in Russian history.

Groovy. The only downside to your avatar is the picture gets pretty stretched and smooshed sometimes and I have to pre stretch and smooch the image to counterbalance a picture like that. With me using paint, I think I would kill the picture.

I will probably do some look into it more and use the Romanov Empire flag for the time being. At least until I get some better resources than I have now to manipulate images. Thanks for your input though, I was wanting to hear what someone from Russia could add for me.

If worse comes to worse I know the soviet flag is still a somewhat valid option.
