I made a map with an external map-maker, then loaded it up and opened WorldBuilder to fine tune. The problem is, the only place where I can save the finished map is in a folder called "WorldBuilder." I can open it up just fine under Scenarios, but I can't find the actual .Civ4WorldBuilderSave to edit the XML.

I'm on a Mac using the crappy Aspyr Media version of Civ4 right now.

In windows the location would be by default C:\Users\Padjur\Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4\Saves\WorldBuilder.
Right click on your save file, select "edit with (your xml editor)"

Leaving aside my natural inclination to make some witty remark about Mac's for the time being, isn't it something like ~/documents/Civilization IV/Saves/ folder in Finder for a mac?

Under what directory is ~/documents under?

It's apparently the standard Documents folder on the Mac. The WorldBuilder saves should be in a folder located in the same folder as the folder where the regular game saves are located. Saving a game the regular way should pop up a screen that lets you look around to see where it would put it. If you still can't find it, then I suggest asking for help in the Civ4 - Macintosh forum.

Its in the Home folder with the music and picture files, if I remember rightly. The directory would be something like
Macintosh HD / Users / (your user name) - Home folder
maybe?

Alright, I asked there too. Couldn't find it anywhere on the computer. That's what I get for buying a crappy $4.99 "Limited Edition" Civ from the App store.

Luckily, my home computer has Civ4 Complete that's much easier to mod.
