Yeah it's a pretty nice capitol. I love all of those mines. Hopefully, you can grab that iron from Gandhi ASAP. That will open you up to all of the opportunity you're going to need for the time being. The good news, is that Hannibal doesn't appear to have any iron either. So once you get it, you can take care of him. wouldn't those two orange cities look better in green?
How long has Montezuma been at war with you? He's tenacious. It's like he's willing to spoil things no matter what the cost to him.
I agree with what other people have written. You may want to think about building a big army of siege weapons and elephants now and go get that iron. Heck if you can do that, you might as well take everything Gandhi has.
I see that your score is the highest.
I'm going to go back to my recent game as Boudica, Prince, small map, marathon. I recently managed a conquest victory at around 180 BC with her on a tiny map. I wanna explore some of the parameters around the conquest victory strategy.
For instance, instead of doing that early quick rush (that's so popular), I like to build Stonehenge, the Great Wall and Oracle first. Then I do a prolonged war, capturing capitols, burning the smaller cities and basically raising hell. With aggressive and charismatic traits, it's a really sound strategy. I send 80% of the workers to build roads to the front lines from my capitol, second city and first captured AI capitol (pumping out the gallic warriors). It's kind of liberating in that you don't have to think too much about your tech path. I just watch the slider and try not to dip to 0. I'll attach it if you want to play around with it. Gilgamesh's axemem are pretty tough.
Hey, careful with that Mountain Dew! I just got done watching the Pats trounce the Cowboys. Yes, Go Pats!
