Okay I know I'm a little late, but I just got Pirates...

I have the "PC Gamer Presents... Sid Meier's Pirates!" version on DVD, but I have a problem.

When playing it crashes to the desktop after several minutes of gameplay, with either no error message, or just a query asking me if I want to send Windows an error report. It always crashes when hanging screens or using the map, it doesn't crash on battles. I run Windows XP, with a 2.8ghz pentium processor, 760mgb of ram, and a 64mgb Intel graphics card. I know my graphics card is weak, but I turned all the graphics settings down to minimum.
I have tried restarting, scanning for viruses, and defragging my hard-drive.

Please help me figure out how to solve this so I can play, of the bit of the game I have managed to play it's very exciting and I'm really looking forward to getting a chance to play it without it crashing in the next 5 minutes:p

The game is old, I think your 64 MB gfx card should be more than enough.

Although I do own the PC version, I have actually not tried it yet (because my pc is much older than this old game).

Perhaps it's a bug? Have you searched for fixes?

Well, I bought a Nvidia Geforc 6200 OC graphics card in an attempt to fix this problem (I can also now run CIV!) But whenever I start Pirates I have a new problem... The screen freezes then my computer shuts down and when it starts up again I get a message saying Windows encountered a fatal error...

Any ideas at all?
