EDIT: Oh, and heres the link to the story itself: Foxxy newsy

    Highlights from the story:

Like the blog states, the guy is getting death threats for not eating a cracker.

Just wanted to point this out to the people who claim islam is so medieval and people so violent when they send death threats for someone drawing their religious figures, and points to christianity as the ultimate in forgiveness and happiness.
Hate crime? Hate crime?! They guy just didn't eat a cracker, get some perspective!

Just goes to show (in my mind at least) that all religions have their nutjobs and their nice and peaceful nonfanatics..

Thought: If he did this enough times, could we rebuild Jesus?

Wouldn't it make sense to dip the Eucharist in the wine or some dipsauce?

Note: These people are Catholic, not Protestant. This situation would only happen in a Catholic Church. Don't mix up Catholicism with Christianity.

I get this vague feeling that I really should not have, and may be in trouble for it, but I really did laugh out loud at this!

rebuilding a human with just flesh and blood could be hard though.
we'd need some organs, bones, muscles and a brain. i suggest we get those from the cemetery, igor.

    Ewww....rebuilding Jesus....

Protestants don't believe in transsubstantiation (the belief that the bread or cracker or wafer or w/e is the physical body of Jesus once a priest blesses it). Therefore, you're just making a bread-sculpture w/ organs in it. /shudder

Well.. let's be fair about this. (yes, there is no harm in defending islam either)

One student, in protest, tried disrupting a group's religious service for political reasons - the student is clearly guilty of disorderly conduct and stupidity. Disorderly conduct in most universties do have a lot of options on the table, including expulsion. This isn't any different than from what the Florida bishop person said.

This isn't the issue. The issue is some guy making a complete disrespect in a place where people expect at least some reasonable amount of privacy and respect. If I went to a Jewish synagogue and started eating a ham shrimpwich on the pews, I'm pretty sure I'd get hateful looks too. In fact, I'm sure I'd get punched by a rabbi.

    also
Yes, I'm sure it's about the cracker. It's always the cracker.

I dare you to try walking into some semi-official assembly (or a synagogue) in Germany, making a Nazi salute, and going "I just waved my arm, get some perspective!" before you keep insisting on the most culture- and context-ignoring interpretation available. :p

well, if Jezus would become feminine, I'd be worried about the transubstantiation of the wine :cringe:
