I don't think there's any evidence to support any of those claims. Neither the claim that smaller maps and less civs are more suited for single player, nor the claim that they are less suited for multiplayer.The Age system with it's small maps and limited amount of players is suited more to single player and MP will suffer .

Multiplayer exists in a variety of forms. If anything the evidence points towards casual multiplayer having larger player counts and more variety, with competitive multiplayer having lower player count and lower variety (per game). But it says nothing of popularity.
As for single player, I don't know where you got that notion from? From a performance perspective alone, size demands more of your system, before you even throw internet connection, etc into it.
Watch the video and ok will change it to "Civkind is geared towards its more casual singleplayer / MP audience rather than its competitive multiplayer audience"
The multiplayer example he gives is in a small map with a small amount of players, so I don't see how that supports your claim.Watch the video and ok will change it to "Civkind is geared towards its more casual singleplayer / MP audience rather than its competitive multiplayer audience"
Who said it was ? maybe actually watch the OP link ..Almost as if competitive multiplayer isn't a major focus for the developers or the playerbase...
I agree, but at the same time, multiple civ and leader combos make for a balance nightmare (or a boring and uninspired game). This discourages competitive MP, except with a lot of house rules.The multiplayer example he gives is in a small map with a small amount of players, so I don't see how that supports your claim.
I don't share others' opinion and if anything the evidence points towards Firaxis putting greater effort into promoting greater online multiplayer engagement in Civ VII:
- Redesigned multiplayer, with shorter games;
- Cross-Platform.
Again prob's best to watch the Link , wee clue "Fears for Civ 7 " Im only sharing the opinion of the dude HersonThe multiplayer example he gives is in a small map with a small amount of players, so I don't see how that supports your claim.

His point is that the late-game is not boring by design, but a consequence of bad AI, and the Age system addresses the issue in single player, but it's not needed in multiplayer. He mentions the limit in player count of 5 players in passing, whereas you put the emphasis on that. There's no mention of the size of the map, but maybe I missed it. So it seems to me you're projecting your own opinion onto his.Again prob's best to watch the Link , wee clue "Fears for Civ 7 " Im only sharing the opinion of the dude Herson
