Hi all,
i am new to Civ3 and never played any games in the civ series;
(the game totally rocks, for the limited time that ive played it !!)
:cool:
--anyways, i bought the game about a month and a half ago, installed it and never got a chance to really get into until recently -- but the i have no idea where the manual for the game went -- i have the tech tree thing and box, but no manual--
I am having trouble organizing military units - e.g. i want to move 3-4 swordsman near an enemy city, i have only been able to move one at a time, and also, how do you get more than one unit to attack at a time? --also, how to use and make catapults attack?
--if anyone can give me a link or info to the commands list/reference i would greatly appreciate it --
i know there are commands that would make the game a bit easier, for now, the computer always kicks me ass...
:p
thanks in advance for helping such a novice as my self,
cheers,
:)

The only way to get more than one unit to attack another enemy unit is to build an army. I think there is a way to move more than one unit at a time, but I forgot what it was...:(

There is a way to do this I believe (the last patch made this possible). Here is a PDF document you can print out (it's two pages). It has a list of keyboard commands. It's very helpful, and I keep it around when I play CivIII.

As for catapults, when you get them near the target you want to bombard (catapults can only bombard units, so they don't actually defeat units, but they injure them) a you should see a small button on the bottom of the screen where command buttons are that looks like a dot followed by a curved line. This is the button to bombard with. It doesn't always succeed, but it can be very helpful when attacking units to injure them first. :king:

Well, to move in stacks was long awaited, and the last patch gave that to us. So if you want stack movement download the latest patch wich is 1.17v on www.Firaxis.com . When you installed the patch you'll be able to move in stacks by pressing "J" when one of the units on that square is activated. Every units of the same kind will move where you clicked after pressing "J".

Wow! What a really cool guy ! So you never been a newbie at civ? You were born with all the knowledge to play the game? And he's not worth your time but you still take the time to write some stupid comment anyway.
Or every post goes according to your name?.......eventhough I dont see any irony here.
