Hi-Techs in Prehistoric Era

@darkedone02

So you said your using the SVN. There are a few things ...

1. When you move the Mod to your mods folder do you delete the old folder first? If not try to do that first.

2. Do you also play Rise of Mankind, A New Dawn or any of those variants? The reason I ask is that they have setting that prevents the future era. And I am wondering if that might be triggering a long dormant/hidden setting in C2C.

I also noticed that the only techs showing up are ones from RoM/AND which is suspicious on why those techs would be triggered but not newer C2C techs.

3. I noticed your steam is not English. What language is it and do you run C2C in non-English mode?

1. When I've installed Caveman 2 Cosmos on a fresh install of Beyond The Sword, I've created a new folder in the mods dictionary and use the whole SVN download over there, and I always update via going to the mods folder and on the Caveman2Cosmos folder I've made for the SVN version of the mod.

2. Yes, I've previously have played Rise of Mankind: AND and Dune Mod whenever I get sick and tired of the slow speed of the mod itself, considering how packed this mod is on content wise that I get 5 minute turns during classical/medieval, jittery mass movements of my workers going to place to place, and all shorts of stuff.

3. I only speak and write in english (american english), and when I've checked after you saw that, I think it's a steam sided problem that somehow turned the language in dutch instead of english, i don't know how that happened but that's a strange thing on valve/steam side.

If you play AND and then play C2C or vice versa, You Really need to clear the cache each time you do this. Really Need to do this. If you do not you are carrying option set ups (among other things) from one mod to the other and they do not match.

Jittery mass movements of workers may be a video ram problem or OS or main ram. C2C is now at ~1.98 GB in size but AND is no slouch at content either at~1.69GB.
Steam is a whole new can of worms for flipping between mods.

I am fairly sure we included Platyping's fix for the custom game options that are not displayed. They are set to the default for the mod now.

I recall we did yes but it must not be working because we've seen this issue numerous times recently.

I've recently upgrade my video card from a ATI radeon HD 6870 (i think) to a Nvidia GTX 780 TI, which is a gigantic upgrade... My RAM that I installed is a Corsair vengeance 16 GB DDR3 ram, and my OS is a windows 7 64-bit edition.

I've fixed my issue by what Thunderbrd has previously told me to do by clicking on play now, and start a new game there to clear this "corruption" in the game files, and so far it worked, no more hi-tech trees during prehistoric era's... (although it was a nice turn of events to see a fantasy sci-fi during prehistoric times).

 time warp ala previous mod settings...

Glad it got fixed. The fact you only had RoM/AND techs was a give away of that old setting.

I'm surprised it happens and this can cause issues with other people as well... That custom game option fix is not working, which makes me question his work being any Efficient due to my own personal experiences of going though the new World Builder Revamp and now this issue here too.

I also don't mean any disrespect though, just that I don't think his work is causing problems more then it provided additional features.

If you can find a bug with the WB standalone, then tell me about it.
If it is a problem with the WB only in C2C, then it has nothing to do with me.
