Here's a lighter thread to take you back to the days of high school. Basically this thread is to tell things about your high school, like mascots, clubs you are/were in, traditions, your graduation class, and general stories about high school.

Me, my school mascot is the dolphin (yes the dolphin, shake with intimidation:p). I'm in NJROTC, student government, hoping to get into the National Honor Society, and I was in band for 2 weeks at the beginning of my freshmen year until the band director p***ed me off and I demanded a schedule change, but he ended up getting fired sometime last spring. My schools new enough that we really don't have any solid traditions yet, I graduate the class of 2006, and I can't think of a story right off hand, but I'll post one as soon as one pops up.

Yes it is, but I should have probably put that with the poll.

    Freshmen - 1st year - 9th grade
    Sophomore - 2nd year - 10th grade (me :D)
    Junior - 3rd year - 11th grade
    Senior - 4th and last year - 12th grade

Then I'll be a senior when school starts (and don't ask me when is that because I don't know)

I'm going to be a senior if I can ever get through registration....somehow the school "forgot" to pre-register me for third year German. Because of that I couldn't accept my proposed schedule, so now I'm going to be in the last group to register. Aren't seniors supposed to get priority?!

I'm going to be a sophmore in a little more than a week. I am not looking forward to it at all, as the pressure for college gets bigger...

My school was placed #50 on the top high schools of the US. And, my school is right next to Stanford (literally), with a total of 29 people getting into Stanford last year. And, as if that was not enough, I am Asian, and because of those annoying Asian stereotypes I am now expected to go to Stanford, or at least a UC, which I'll probably have a better chance...too much pressure.

Gonna be a Junior, I suspect I will buy junior mints and not give them to seniors, claiming they are for juniors only.

Edit: Oh and my junior year is going to be a breeze I only have two courses that will require significant amounts of work (Ap US History and Honors English) the rest (AP advanced calc, Accelerated Physics, AP chem, AP biology and Spanish 3) play on my strenghts and should be very easy to do.

Here in Denmark ‘high school’ lasts three years. 2nd year is the worst. 30% of my class didn’t last through 2nd year…

I went to ‘Technical high school’, a special type of high school focusing on math, physics, electronics, geeky stuff, and more geeky stuff.
Us technocrats that went to technical high school consider the typical Danish high school, old dusty, and obsolete.

I spent three years of drinking and working my way through high school. Thank God the pub was just across the street… in public school we had to walk for ten minutes…

Oh btw, graduated way back in mid-2001...
