Hmm no multiplayer lobby...........

Why is there no multiplayer lobby? The last 2 titles i purchased on steam{ETW and NTW} didnt have a proper lobby either and i feel that it detracts from the online experience.
Is this something to do with steam or firaxis/2K?

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong here but I'm pretty sure Steam doesn't do lobbies.

Not really going to miss them all that much given what a hot-bed the Civ 4 lobby was/is for flamers, spammers, trolls and racists.

I mean really, without a moderator the concept of a lobby is pretty bad.

That´s true! There have been German, Russian, Polish, French etc. leagues as well for many years.

And competition is what is best for the players, anything else can result in stagnation.

I mean, that's true. But these are strictly non-profit enterprises anyways. Canuck does the civ league because he loves the game... as do the rest of us.
