Also, please point out which games felt right as a challenge in V and which were too easy, we can use that feedback to fashion the games as well.

Game 3 was a challenge (Churchill quick diplo), for me at least.

Game 8 was easy, but it easily attracted the most entrants, and was interesting.

I have to agree with neilmeister, that game 3 was a real challenge. (I haven't actually completed it yet, but hope to)
All of the others were achievable, and were of an interestingly varied range of difficulties.
In fact, I would say that there is no such thing as a 'too easy' game, since then we get into the realms of 'who can get the fastest possible finish'

    @Ronald

Note that unrestricted leaders is not allowed for HoF submissions and therefore cannot be used in the challenge.

I have just read my earlier post, and would like to add :
I still believe that a wide range of challenges is required, so that there are some games that challenge even the best, while others are something that all of us can aim for.

I will try to think of some scenarios, and post them here in the next few days.

That game came about by asking a friend (who has no idea about Civ) who would be an interesting historical world leader to be and who would be an interesting bunch of other leaders to have to compete against

Unfortunately, I didn't have the time to complete all of the games, but ...

game 6 was (still is) a real gem, and
game 5 would have been more interesting if water maps were not allowed.

All together, a great CFC feature. Looking forward for the next.

EDIT: lol, I checked TMIT's speedcivving play times for a few games.
Example: 01:00:50 for game 5, is real fast even for a cultural victory :king:.
I wish I could make decisions that fast. Probably would finish all 10 games :D.

Game 1: Like the settings, still want to finish it
Game 2: Settings did not appeal to me
Game 3: Tried a few times and got frustrated. Too much random luck involved with the selected opponents
Game 4: Really like the settings, play it at the moment and still hope to finish it
Game 5: Liked the settings, like AW games. Would like to get a real AW game in challenge VI
Game 6: I really like these late starts. Something I don't have played often, but think they are fun to play
    Game 7: Liked the game
Game 8: Think it was a silly game, only played it because it was OCC and I like OCCs
Game 9: I don't like religious victory. Did not play
Game 10: Like the settings, maybe be still able to finish

Most fun game for me: game 6
Most unappealing game for me: game 9
Toughest game for me: game 3

I'd like to see huts removed from all but 2 games in series 6. One low level game like warlord with a civ that starts with a scout...because popping settlers/workers is fun(ny). And one other game just for giggles.

Yes, I know this has been discussed to death.

But there is too much randomness in results from huts. I'm probably one of the biggest beneficiaries of 'hut-luck' playing these series and I'd still like to see them removed.

I think we are going hut-less for Series 6, in all games...

Kill the huts and the people within it!!! Yes, do it!

No more game 8. I am traumatized by this one even though I didn't play that one yet.

Loved #8. It was an interesting debate/challenge on how to achieve the best score. But if you just want to submit a game, it wasn't a challenge.

Technically, I felt like the one who has the best start (especially in OCC) will win. But your submission proved the contrary...I think...I haven't see it yet.

Anyways, I just hate OCC as much as quick speed. That's how I am built.

    BTW, WastinTime=master player in score...;)

Isn't "Rising Seas" also a legal option?

I'd like to see some challenges focus on the rarely used options. The two that come to mind are:

    City Flipping after Conquest
    Rising seas

    A) City Flipping after Conquest

I have no idea how interesting this option is when turned on. I'd guess that it would be more interesting combined with:

    No Vassals
    Require Complete Kills
    No City Razing

You'd want the game to be a Domination victory.
You'd also want to give the AI time to establish a decent size civilization so the "Flipping after conquest" would be more likely to occur--so maybe continents. (or maybe this could be a non-ancient start.) or just make it on quick-Deity :)

    B) Rising Seas...

How to make that interesting? Well, I think you could do an OCC domination with No Vassals and No Perm Alliance!

The only way to win is to get enough land to turn into water tiles, so your legendary City can dominate.

It has the potential to be the ultimate Civ game. You will need to have legendary culture. The game wil have to run very long on the timeline to raise seas that much. You will probably need to use spies to stop the AI from launching spaceships. You will eventually need to conquer most of the world to get their population down. Nukes -- those probably raise the seas.

Not sure what size map is large enough to make this winnable, but only if you get some seas to rise. (maybe Small)

We may need some "Rising Seas" research done before we can define this challenge.

I like this idea but would need to know that it is possible first :)

I'll test a game since I like OCC a lot. What difficulty, map size, and speed are you thinking ? Any specific map/civ or let the user choose one ?

fyi...imm/deity is definitely out of my range.
