Very well played on the VANILLA games vexing.

Two score games which you played in this session;

Game entry - 4297..Deity..Culture..Duel..Quick..Archipelago.. Siam.. Score - 9719 Time played 18.50 hrs.
Game entry - 4241..Deity..Science..Duel..Standard..Archipelago.. Egypt.. Score - 13054 Time played 13.50 hrs.

To a mere mortal like me these are fantastic performances, and you have put all previous attempts by myself and other members to serious shame!

I allways knew you could do it, I just don't understand why you have spent so much time complaining about the tediousness and skill factors involved in such games. I am glad you have finally decided to join those of us interested in playing these types of games, from my point of view you have given me something to strive for and I thank you.

Side note; As regards my bet, there was a stipulation that if I got within 30 points of your score and without having a single bronze medal amongst the medals I had gained then I would win. So I did win!!

Good gaming to all.

I think I have finally worked out how you managed to get the above scores, It would seem that you have been playing five billion years BC!
I love a good challenge, so now it's game on!

in two weeks time I should be able to take the top spot and get weighed in for a very big bet.

thankfully when you make bets with yourself, it's really easy to retroactively add stipulations when your original rules are not going to allow for winning. don't worry, it's easy to see how going from 2.6 points to 97.2 points from the top position could be disheartening.

Three choices here;

1 - I told a lie about my bet and there never really was one!
2 - I made an excuse on the forum which covered up for my loss.
3 - I really did make a bet that involved all sorts of alterations at the advent of workers not following instructions back in October 2012 also the change in the scoring system back in August 2012.

I am glad the thought of me winning/losing a big bet inspired you to play with such dedication!

you know what they say about assuming: it oft leads to false conclusions.

Well, whatever your reason for putting in such a momentous effort, I can only reiterate what I said earlier in the thread, "very well played vexing."

I am genuinely pleased that you have given me some competition on the vexing named "tedious games" front. Contrary to me going away because the competition is too hot, you have inspired me to hang around a little longer! I only get bored when there is no competition!

You have proved yourself to be the best duel domination player, I just can't be bothered to continually reload looking for the absolute perfection from ruins! When I initially took all those golds from you, I used my own tactics and never spent more than half an hour achieving any of them, it was only a matter of time before you adopted similar tactics! I conceed defeat, and as far as I am concerned it is duel games RIP.

Good luck and good gaming Mr vexing.

PS - Now that I think I know what era you played your deity score games in (5 billion BC), your scores are not quite as good as I first thought, disapointing I know but you are mortal after all!

if you think changing the age to 5 billion is going to allow you to more than double your previous scores, you're sorely mistaken. anyway, i now think 4 billion is the best age for a duel island map score game.

I managed to end up with more than 45 Cities because there are potential City sites in the borders of the ice that seems to have become more shallow. With alot more sea area to play with, then those Cities become much larger. If you couple these facts with my growing knowledge of how to play Deity games then I don't see why I can't double my score!

Playing archipelago Siam I recently submitted a score of 8,200 points with only 35 Cities, and by my standards that game was perfection. I was completely baffled as to how you could have scored so highly until someone sugested taking the option of 5 billion BC. It stands to reason that I have scored alot more with 45 Cities!

I am thoroughly enjoying these games and I do hope you continue to play them in the future.
