[Extension] Hokath's Proposals

Ok so i tried all of my modmods and the bug only occurs when i have the Vietnam custom civ activated (The Version from your Dropbox thats been updated to 5.0)

just finished a game with Portugal (great civ !), with some of your changes and 5/6 UC.
Relatively easy emperor victory.
I like the fact you created plenty of buildings, which makes decision on what to build actually matter, at least until the information era (where with Industry and a wealthy civ like PT you can build pretty much everything in 1 turn, 3 max).
I think some of those buildings break the game though: the newsroom is the equivalent of one Terracotta Army PER CITY ! That's just way too much I believe. At the time it arrives, war are fought against 100s of units, so you can easily kill 10 in every round, pronbably doubling the culture output.
 
I tried with Vietnam loaded and everything still works.

Sorry for the late response. I downloaded the new VP hotfix but the problem still persists. Only Mods active are Vietnam, your Proposals + no EE Addon and IGE+. Heres the database log:

Hey Valliand, I'm away from the computer atm so I can't fix it, but I suspect the reason is because Vietnam has code that overwrites the combat class of great people.
That is, sets great people to some "UNITCOMBAT_GREAT_PERSON" or similar.
This would make sense because then those promotions like Embarkation and XP gain would get disabled.
 
Added the new version into my mods folder and came across a zipped Rome file in the Civ_Balance subfolder, is this meant to be here, and if so should I unzip it?

I have a question about Master Shipwright. I tried to wait foir the quest to build it from CS, but they didn't give it (in one game like for 35-40+ turns). Are CS able to give quest to build it?
 
@HeroOfTheSword that's just from when I uploaded it to the congress thread, you can leave it (or delete), it's the same as the folder next to it.
 
playing a sweden game to try out the jarls and running into a couple problems; major one is that they don't seem to give leadership aura, but there's also the 'High Chancellor' promotion giving yields as if the unit's got atomic era CS right from the start... not exactly game breaking considering it's just gold/tourism/GAP

bugs aside, jarls are so unique and so well integrated into the civ that alongside the 5.0 changes and EE sweden went from an extremely boring pick to one of the most fun in the game imo, great work

edit: got a little further and the GG movement boost from imperialism also isn't applying to jarls, not sure if bug or feature... much more importantly, the combat animation for the enlightenment/industrial era jarl is that he skis up to every enemy soldier individually and shoots them in the face... this is the greatest civ of all time

Yeah this wasn't working for a while, it required a DLL change that went in recently. Maybe you are not completely updated?
I also need to fix the Vietnam problem.

jarls are so unique ... EE sweden went from an extremely boring pick to one of the most fun in the game imo
Yeah the "hero unit" kinda feel is really enjoyable I think. I like the RPG aspect maybe more than most so I'm glad you enjoyed it too.

Yeah I didn't change anything about that model lol it's just base civ V weirdness.

Is this updated for 5.1 or whatever?
It works in 5.0
I have more updates to launch but we are waiting for some DLL changes to go through first

Can confirm the issue - I'm seeing no leadership aura from Jarls either.

Game started on VP 5.1.2 (Jarl wasn't working), then updated to VP 5.1.3 (Jarl still isn't working)
Proposals modmod is 2026-01-07

Ok can confirm it is un-fixed.
I will look at what happened in DLL land. In the meantime you can un-comment the bit in the file that gives a fake aura, if you like.
