He'll be back after the election, no question.
Nice try at spin, could do better. I recommend he speaks to Mandelson for some tips, prior to his inevitable return to a ministerial post.
Yes. But the timing of the recent arrest of Nick Griffin, depending on what they wanted to achieve by it, suggests that he had lost some focus (assuming that the order to pull him came from the Home Office). It seems like a good idea for him to go and sort out his personal stuff.
I like the look of the new guy. He looks like the sort that might bring back hanging!!
Personally I think that Clarke was a better education secretary than Blunkett was, so it will be interesting to see how he compares as home secretary. As for the new education secretary, I've never heard of her.
Apparently, she (Ruth Kelly) was an economist at the Bank of England before becoming an MP.
According to Wikipedia, she studied PPE at Oxford (which means she's an arrogant intellectual type), and was a economics writer for the Guardian (which means she wasn't very good at economics).
According to The Guardian, she's fairly centrist, and a typical Labour member.
Hope springs eternal in samildanach land.
Nah, that means she didn't know what other subject to do. I should know, speaking as an arrogant intellectual type!
Bye bye Blunkett!
