I can't make units or graphics, but I can make maps. I love making maps! I've decided to devote myself to making maps as my contribution to the Civ3 modding community. There are preview threads for units and mods, so why not one for maps-in-progress?

This first post will be reserved for links to completed maps, and will be updated as I make new ones. Below is the list of completed maps in the order they were made:

Phantasy Star 4 - Motavia
Breath of Fire 1, 2, and 4 world maps
Final Fantasy 8 world map
Mediterranean
Final Fantasy 9 world map
Germany and surrounding lands

---------------

I will be open to suggestions or requests at any time. In the meantime I'll be working on personal projects. Please note that I prefer fictional stuff, especially video game rpg maps. As far as maps of actual Earth locations, I think there are more than enough good ones out there already. However, if you have a request for something that either doesn't exist or the existing maps are somehow insufficient, then I will consider it.

Maps currently in progress:
None at the moment.

I've started on a map of the Final Fantasy 8 world map, just for fun. Here's a picture of the actual map.

Below is a minimap of the map so far.

I just did a little bit real quickly tonight to get started. I've marked the rough outlines of the major landmasses. It's important to set your boundaries. I sometimes have a problem of running out of space. You can see where I put in little bits of desert to mark the boundaries of the Galbadia continent. There's also a line of tundra in the NE marking the eastmost edge of the Trabia continent. I jumped the gun at first and tried to go ahead and draw those continents in, only to find they were way out of proportion. So I'm going to be a little more cautious after that. You can see where I've used coast tiles to "erase." I do that so I can still see where the terrain used to be.

Galbadia Continent is finished, though I still find myself making some minor tweaks. I think I'll tackle the big Trabia/Esthar continent in the East next.

Esthar and Trabia completed, as well as Balamb Island. Unfortunately Esthar really is just a bunch of flat ugly plains like that. There's nothing I could really do about it. :(

Next will be the Centra continent in the South. Then I should be finished.

If there are no requests, I'll move on to another personal map next. I'd rather do a request, though, since then at least I'd know someone had a use for the map.

... the Taskmasta doesn`t make requests :smug: ;)

If you feel that you are up to the challenge, I`d like to see one. It could be based on a certain region, like, a map of the Empire and the neighbouring countries, not the whole Old World. Or I dunno, the Lost Isles of Elithis.. Be creative. :)

One limitation - 100 X 100 maximum.

I'm...really not familiar with the world of Warhammer. In fact I'm not at all familiar with it, except for a few maps I've seen here that look like distorted Earth maps. Without being given something specific to work on, I don't think I could motivate myself to do such a map.

But he does issue covert commands

I'm finally making maps again. It's good to be back in the swing of things.

I'm currently making a Large (130x130) version of kulade's Huge Mediterranean map. It's a good map, but too big for me, and for many others I expect. So I figured I would take the map (with permission from kulade) and make a smaller version.

I wouldn't normally make a real life map like this, but I have a use for this one.

Minimap preview should be attached. Europe is basically complete. Most of Africa and the Middle East are still a big ugly mess.
