So, three have been taken hostage and I think the perimeter has been secured and negotiations may take place.

But hi, if the retired veterans all been armed with AR-15's and hand grenades, this wouldn't have been a problem right? They kicked ass once and they can do it again right?

While the linked CNN report didn't pick it up, local sources are reporting that the shooter is one of the veterans.
 
Leading to the obvious question...why is someone participating in a PTSD program able to acquire such weaponry?
Because not allowing them to own guns would violate their second amendment rights which is apparently a fate worse than death?
