Hi,

I'm currently using Opera on my laptop. It's pretty nice, but I can't access my hotmail using its mail program. Well, I can access it, using FreePOPs, but I can't send any mail.

If anyone knows other (free) programs like this, that do allow you to send mail, I'd be glad to hear.

BTW: I know I can do this with Thunderbird, but I wanted to try out Opera's all in one approach. If it doesn't work out at all, I'll consider moving back to FF/TB.

With Hotmail I think you have to pay to be able to do that.

The pop3 access for hotmail is pretty misleading. You do need to pay for it if you are not using a work around. Conventionally you need to use a mail client such as Windows Live Mail desktop to access it reliably ( or another MS mail client such as Outlook ). The same goes for accessing hotmail on your cellphone.

You also have to pay for Yahoo pop mail but you can use it with any client. Some non- US accounts such as Yahoo Japan let you get free pop mail if you let them send you spam.

Gmail has free pop mail access. Although it is very finicky at times if you are accessing it from multiple clients. They have been improving it though. It works best if you set it for recent mail instead of synching every message you have on the server.
