I'm not talking about the newbie tips, I've skimmed through those and got no answer.Besides with 200+ pages the answer could be there but people would probably never find it.
What Im suggesting is a thread where people can go and find info on file downloads. Sorta like a Civ 4 file downloads for dummies thread.
Like I've downloaded FfH and I'd like it to start by default, how would I do that? (I've seen this question many times in the forums and haven't really seen it answered yet.)
I've downloaded map files, where do I put them?
I've downloaded New Civilization files, where do I put them?
I think you get the idea. I have found some mod developer's who have provided this type of information, but this is not the norm. Besides these people have spent a tremendous amount of time developing fantastic mods, I'm sure it would save them alot of pm's from people with the "I downloaded your mod, but it doesn't work. Where should I have put it?" type questions.
Anyways the thread, in my mind would look something like this:
Downloaded a great mod? Get it to start by default by doing this......
Downloaded maps should go here.....
Downloaded Civilizations should go here.......
