Sometimes the human species shocks me.

A 'net friend of mine, she lives a few thousand miles from me, the other night around midnight her cat wanted in. But it couldn't get in. Because somebody cut off his hind legs. Just horrible.

Why??? WHY???

Then how come it couldn't get in the house. Do you know how a door works? Do you realize the effort it'd take for a cat to drag itself to a house. I can assure you that A)it would have died from a loss of blood first or B)it could've made it into the door. This story is a lie unless it's proven by pictures.

Furthermore, how do we know it was humans. Why could it not be an animal which the cat escaped from?

Only one kind of dog can do this..Pitbull.. a small possibility..Probably it is a human who did it..
But if it is a dog,maybe it wants to do the same thing to the cats brothers in zoo;maybe a tiger or jaguar..I wonder its response to these.

Couple of thoughts here.

One. An animal the size of a cat isnt going to get too far before it bleeds out if its hind legs had truly been 'cut off'.

Two. I cant give my cat a bath without being scratched all to hell let alone attempt to cut its legs off. I really dont think a single person could 'pull it off' so to speak. And one would have to think if such effort and multiple people would be required to do this that they would merely have killed the cat outright instead of subjecting themeselves to huge amounts of bite/claw marks from a crazed feline.

Three. Cats have been known to be preyed upon by a variety of other animals. Where I live there was a report last year of 'gangs' of Racoons (5-10 in a group) attacking and carrying off cats and small dogs. However, if the cat was caught by such a predator, I hardly think the cat would have survived having its legs eaten off it while alive and still managed to drag its way to the door.

Four. An animal hit by a car can indeed have its legs crushed and might manage to run some distance even with them in that condition before giving out. However, usually the animal dies in the place it drops after such an accident. Its possible that a car might have hit the cat and then it ran to the door and died on the step and your friend merely mispoke in their description of the injury.

Final Analysis: Most likely this was merely an accident if true at all.

1) A pitbull is not a breed of dog. It is a broad label given to a number of different dog breeds. Nowadays, it's more like a buzzword for violence.

2) Plenty of other dogs can severely hurt a cat.
