I have two hdd's. One is 320 gigs and one is 500 gigs. Anyway, I installed HD Tune to check up on my hdd's performance, and it says that both my harddrives are not on the supported DMA settings.

How do I change it so that get them on the proper dma settings?

Don't worry about it, it automatically works as it should.

He needs them changed so a program can read them. Which quite certainly means they're not on the proper settings.

Unless of course, the program is just outright wrong.

No, I just want my hdd's working at optimal performance.

This may help explain what you are seeing with HD Tune, at least if you have an older mobo and a SATA drive:

You shouldn't have to worry about things like this. They should happen automagically with current OSes. If the above article doesn't specifically address your problem, it may be another issue with HD Tune on your particular platform.

You can verify whether you disk is performing properly or not by using one of the standard benchmark programs and comparing the results to what similar systems achieve.
