How do I Change the Starting Year in Civ IV?

I would think this would just be a simple tweak, but finding where to do this is like finding a needle in a massive haystack. Does anybody know? What file is it located in?

Go to the main XML section and open this file

GlobalDefines

In it there is a section that says starting year with -4000. Change that number to whatever you want, but be sure to keep the minus sign if your year is still in BC.

You can also change it for the individual scenarios by opening the scenario in wordpad/notepad and editing the start date year if you wish it to remain BC then leavethe (-) minus sign before the year number




((for anyone wondering why i necroed this post, this is one of the first threads to appear on google when looking for "how to change start date civ 4" and i wanted anyone who comes here from there to know the way to change this for individual scenarios))
