how do i change the expiration date from 2050 AD to my choosing?

I'm playing conquests, btw, and can't find it in conquests.biq

Try selecting Scenario | Scenario Properties in the editor, and adjusting the maximum number of turns in the bottom left. Also, you can adjust the turn time scale, so that turns are equal to more years (you will play the game for just as long, but the maximum year will be greater). I believe you can also do something similar when starting a game, but I don't use that option, so I can't tell you for sure.

When you go to New Game, underneath the leaderhead, click on "Game Limits" you can edit it there.
