Just a question. Can you place the dummy object anywhere or does it have to be on the bottom.

I'm not completely sure. I would think you could place them anywhere. But I've been doing it similar to the firaxis examples just in case.

Thank you dual, but this question has been bugging me that i need to ask you. when assigning the animations and setting them up in the MD (ex Idle_ec) does the keyframes of my animation have to be in the order of the firaxis examples (the charts they made) or can the be a bit varied and than still give the code. for example on most animation charts they say to begin with idle, but what if i want to have him running first, can i have them mixed up? I think just asigning the keyframe's to the right code is all thats needed but im just asking to make sure. thanks in advance.

Sorry, I haven't gotten around to making my own animations like that (though I've been meaning too). So, I can't answer your question.

All I've done so far is use the dummies to connect my models to Firaxis animations using the nif viewer.

Having done only a couple new animated units, I don't have much experience with the order of the animations. From what I've found though, it really doesn't matter what order their in. None of my star wars walkers have animation sequences that match what firaxis recommends, and they work fine. Good luck!

I have made the same expierience as snafusmith.
The order they are set up in your time seqquence does not matter as long as the Evencodes are numbered correctly (therer you have to stazy to firaxis numbers). You can not influence through in which order the Animations are played in game.

The only thing you want to make sure is that the end position of a specific sequence is identic to the beginning position of the following sequence.

eg. StrikeA->FortifyB_Idle and FortifyB->FortifyB_Idle

Thank you soo much everyone really big help, for some reason this reallly helped me because the Firaxis chart always confused me and made me lazy to do the animation! now that i can do it in any order, I can finally be free! again thank you all!

I think the fidget animation is for idle units, so they play around a little with their equipment or turn their heads for example. It´s there to make sure the units do a little bit of action, even if they are just standing around.
