How do I upgrade units? [dumb question]

Hi everyone.

I feel so embarrassed to have to ask this, but where on the UI do I go to upgrade an obsolete unit? I searched the forums and didn't find any topics asking this question, so it must be painfully obvious...

you need to have the technology first, after that you will need the gold to upgrade that unit, there is a upgrade button that lights up when you select the unit if it is eligible for upgrade

for instance if i wanted to upgrade my swordman to long swordman i would need to research steel first then spend like 150 gold to upgrade that unit

1 more thing you need to have the resource also this could be a pain since u need x1 iron for x1 swordman

you have to be in your own borders apparently.

warriors can't upgrade to spearmen, they have to upgrade to swordsmen

Ahhh, thank you both!

Seems that I don't actually have any units that are eligible for upgrades yet. Kinda weird that the military advisor popped up to tell me that I can upgrade units, before I have an advanced enough tech to actually support doing so...
