How do I use the scenarios?

I have the latest version and Patch e. I don't see the famed scenarios that were supposed to be part of Ice. Is there a separate download for the scenarios? Where are they located and how do I get them to play?

Play a game, and at the top right where you see all the buttons, on the far right is one that if you mouseover, it says "Scenarios"

Clicking on it will take you to them

Is the button in game after I start?

Is it part of the custom game setup?

I was looking in the scenarios area...but all the scenarios listed were the ones that shipped with BTS and a few that I had downloaded. I didn't see the ones advertised with the new version.

It's a different kind of scenario - they're all sort of contained within the FFH mod.

You need to start a normal FFH game - use these settings: any civ (makes no difference), Erebus map, Duel size. Those are recommended by Kael. Once your game is initialised, then go to the Scenarios button as described by Lade (or hit Ctrl+E - it's the replacement for the Espionage screen, you see :D )
You should be able to work it out from there.

The only reason you start a game first is to initialise the mod, so you can start the scenarios within it.

I found the scenarios now. It seems a little counterintuitive to have them ingame instead of in the game setup.

Maybe the scenarios could be included in the custom game settings. Another idea would be to make another menu at the main menu and call them FfH Campaigns instead of scenarios (so that are not mistaken or mixed with Vanila or other mods). Either of these ideas would make more sense then the ingame option that is the only way to reach them now.

I do like that a player CAN access them from ingame. I just think that there should be a way to start a scenario without first starting a game.

Glad you found them :goodjob:

I think its like he said, you have to actually initialize the mod for them to work

If you want to, you could also open them directly from the XML as well, but beware of choosing one you haven't unlocked, because if you do the four horsemen start next to your starting location

Kael mentioned this on another thread:

Having the scenarios available from the scenario menu would mean you could access them out of order, so it'd ruin the "follow on" part. They can't be modded into the main menu because Firaxis didn't release the necessary code (if I remember correctly.)
