How Do I

I was wondering if any of you monster gamers know how to unload your armies i would like to upgrade to an advanced unit but havent found any way to unload my armies at this time

Definitely not possible. I am careful as to what I put into armies. If after I get a leader I will get a new offensive unit within two tech advances, I will wait for those to become available so I can compose my army of them.

Sorry to say there isn't. first time i got an army ever, i loaded a spearman into it in the modern ages thinking i could take it back out again later. i was in for a rude shock.

If the game is patched you can't do it.

But on an unpatched vanalla, fortify you army out side a city. Next move an unit of the same type as in the army to the same tile. Use the "Move unit of same type" icon and it will yank out those type of units.

EDIT: this will not work on PtW or C3C patched or unpatched.

You COULD do it once after one of the patches came out, but you can't anymore.

Sounds like a problem for the enginers to fix in civ 4 when it comes out

it's not a problem, it's there by design

Definitely not a bug. This was purposefully put in.
