I'm not that good at downloading mods, this mod looks really fun and I would like to play it but I have no idea how to get it to work. I've already downloaded it but it won't work. I'm using winrar. Whenever I click on what I think is the link it says some stuff about how the mod won't work and it takes to regulur civ 4 beyond the sword, do I have to extract the file somewhere? And if so where?

Extract it to the mods folder of Beyond the Sword. Mine's at C:\Program Files (x86)\2K Games\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4 Complete\Beyond the Sword\Mods. Yours might be at a slightly different location.

Indeed
Search for your Beyond the Sword folder
The RFCEurope folder in the rar should go into:
\Beyond the Sword\Mods\

Then you can start the mod by double-clicking the map file:
\Beyond the Sword\Mods\RFCEurope\PrivateMaps\RFCEurope.CivBeyondSwordWBSave

I just joined specifically because I just downloaded RFC Europe but am unable to open the World Builder Save file. I've moved the RFC Europe folder into the Beyond the Sword mods folder and when I double click on the World Builder save file my computer asks me to choose the program I want to open the file with. I'm guessing this isn't supposed to happen right? Not sure if anyone can help but thanks if anybody can.

I'm pretty sure you can just look for Civilization IV: Beyond the Sword in your Programs. If you can't find it, just try loading the mod the normal way (Go to Advanced in the main menu, click Load a Mod, select RFCEurope or whatever the mod's name is, click Go, then click Play a Scenario).

I tried both ways. I tried opening the file from from the BTS Mods folder and it didn't work. I then tried starting up the game and going to advanced and loading the mod but it just took me straight back to my desktop. Is there any other way of loading the mod?

I'm not sure about this but maybe here is your problem:

There are two Beyond the Sword Mods folders. One is located at your default CIV directory (Commonly under Program Files), and this one is the right one (sometimes it's lost under strange folder paths I never understood perfectly, as this problem only happened in others' pcs I've looked, not mine). And there is another Mods folder under My Documents (or only Documents)/My Games. I think in this one it doesn't work properly, even listing the mod on the game screen but crashing at any attempt to load it.

I hope it helps.

I'm trying to run this mod on my Mac OS 10.7, with BTS updated. But every time I attempt to load the mod, it crashes during start-up with a "XML Error" saying that certain files are uncached. Any ideas on how to fix this problem?

Because this mod has a custom DLL GameCore, it's not possible to play the mod with a Mac. All mods with a custom DLL GameCore are unplayable on a Mac. (I don't know if the vanilla BTS mods are playable on a Mac.)

You can download a Windows Emulator (or something like that) and play the Windows version. That way you can safely play all mods.
