I know you can see the holy cities because of the * on the icon, but how do you tell what buildings/wonders are in a city?

How would you tell which ones will be in a city after you capture it.

I shudder to think of all the wonders and good stuff i've razed, and all the junk i kept

You can see what civ own what wonder I forgot where but its in the same place that you can see the 5 most cultural city I think it is. Here you can also see what wonders are in thos cities if I remember corectly. BUt oterwise you just have to scroll in and look close on the city since all wonders are visebol you just have to know how they look.

Alla cultural buildings get destroyed anyway and chance for the other buildings to so guess that dosent matter mush.

Oterwise its just about giessing. Big cities and capital often have some nice things same as really old cities while a new AI city in the 1200ad most likely dont have mids.

If the city is "visible" to your units, any wonders located there will be listed in the Top 5 cities/Wonders screen. You can also send a spy there ahead of time and check the same screen for wonders.

Finally, when you get the announcement that a wonder has been completed, click on the icon that appears on-screen to jump to the city where it was built. Make a mental or even paper note of where they are.

It's ridiculous, IMHO, that the game doesn't simply list the city location of each wonder in the wonders screen. Hello, no one simply forgets where the Pyramids happen to be located! After 2 expansion packs and who know how many patches, they still haven't fixed this.

One wonder I especially always want to know about is the location of the Statue of Zeus. I want to know which civ I'll have war weariness trouble with in the event of a war; and if I do go to war with them, capturing that city will be a top priority.

Espionage > AI's espionage. Double-click city. Look on the left-hand side of the screen.
