How do you guys get those magnified resource icons to display on the map?

I see this all the time in recorded games, but never a mention regarding how to do it.

Ctrl-R, or there is a button above the minimap that does the same thing (hover mouse over to see which one it is).

I'm pretty sure it's in the hints list in the in game civilopedia. It's worth going through this list.

It's one of the buttons in the lower right corner of the map.
